The Jet Account Protection Plan covers your account balance in the event of your death, permanent disability or retrenchment from permanent employment. Similarly the Jet Account Protection Partner Plan covers your account balance in the event of your partner’s death, permanent disability or retrenchment from permanent employment. You can get cover up to a maximum of 26 00000. If you have both plans, your account balance cover increases to a maximum cover of 30 00000.
Should you have it?
Yes! If you don’t have enough life and disability insurance and you spend lots of money on your store card, it will be beneficial.
The costs of these plans are small: you could either pay 035 (040 in Botswana) or 070 (080 in Botswana) for every 10000 (or part thereof) of the outstanding balance – the maximum cost being 2600 per month per plan.
The monthly premium of the Account Protection Plan and Account Protection Partner Plan are calculated on the highest account balance during that month, ensuring you maximum protection and peace of mind. Cover for you: up to 26 00000 cover for 035 (or 040 in Botswana) for every 10000 (or part thereof) of the month’s highest balance on your account. |

Note:
There is a three-month waiting period: this means that if you or your partner are retrenched from permanent employment or permanently disabled in the first three months of either plans, you will not be paid out. However, in the event of your or your partner’s death, you will be paid out regardless of how long you’ve had it. Also, you have to make your claim within 120 days of being retrenched from permanent employment or permanently disabled. Always let your partner know about these rules of the plans, so that they can claim in time in the event of death. You have to be 18 years or older to qualify for these insurance plans.
